Our local paper contacted us last week to see what was happening with our business. We advised we had some cria so they came to photograph and yesterday we were on the front page of The North Shropshire Chronicle with 2 cria and also in The Shropshire Star as Candy our brown girl did her keeping cool trick whilst the photographer was with us.
At last we have put some photos of Jasmine, our third and final cria for this year into the website gallery. She is lively and fast and our 2 male cria have trouble keeping up with her!
Popcorn is such a good girl, today was her due date and today she duly delivered a beautiful white girl who we have named Jasmine. She is a big, strong girl and very lively. Popcorn is our smallest girl and she has given birth to our biggest cria this year as Jasmine weighed 9kg. As soon as we have a decent photo we will add Jasmine to our photo gallery.
Monty is doing well and gaining weight. Merlin our cria born in May is pleased to have a new playmate but seems to forget he is a lot bigger than Monty.

We are still waiting for Popcorn to produce and her due date is Saturday 21 August.
Well, it is just like Bonita to be different. She seemed restless on Friday afternoon and we were sure she would give birth Saturday morning although she has shown all of the signs before. We had friends round on Friday night and when they left at midnight, we checked Bonita just incase, and there was a cria. The cria was up and the afterbirth passed so we think he was born about 11.30pm. He is a lovely fawn boy with a very crimpy and curly coat and we have called him Monty.
We have added 2 more styles of socks to our already extensive range. We have soft pastel coloured bed socks for ladies and patterned everyday socks for men. Keep an eye on the website as new stock is being sourced, with Christmas in mind and will be added to the website shortly.
Bonita’s due date was 6 August so hopefully the cria will arrive soon. She is sitting down a lot and walking very steadily as she gets bigger and bigger.
Popcorn is due 21 August and we hope she is early so the 2 cria will arrive together.
Guess we’ll just have to wait and see!
Our hay is at last safely stored in the barn for Winter.
We are watching 2 of our girls Bonita and Popcorn who are due 6 August and 21 August respectively. They are both pregnant to Eringa Park Commandante a stunning mid fawn male who has done very well in the show ring last year and this year. Bonita is white and Popcorn is light fawn so we can’t wait to see what colours the cria are.
We have left 6 acres for hay this year and last Friday the hay was cut. It was turned yesterday and as it is nice and dry we are hoping it will not need to be turned anymore but will be baled mid week. We are told yields are not good this year as there has not been enough rain so it will be interesting to compare how many bales we make this year to the number from last year.
Meanwhile, Merlin is now 2 months old and is a big, strong boy. He is full of life and lovely to watch and we can’t wait until our 2 other cria are born and he has some playmates.
