Halter Training

Halter Training

Halter training the youngsters is our favourite job of the year. We wean the babies at 6 months old and then as long as they are ok we generally start halter training a couple of weeks after that.  They are very quick learners and we normally start them off with an older alpaca so they can learn to follow them first.  If they will be going into the show ring we also have to spend time standing still as in a big class this can be for quite a time, while the alpacas are being assessed.
